collagen

Postby beach sunrise » Sat Oct 24, 2020 2:10 am

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has taken collagen supplements? I've been researching it and found grass fed (living) collagen that sounds good to take. I will bring it up to the ND but just wanting your thoughts also.
My hair stylist brought it up so I have been digging into it for info.

Of course, that makes sense (especially the hair part). I hope it works for you!

Funny you should mention collagen. My hair has been shedding way more than usual and my girlfriend suggested collagen just last week... She has been taking it for a few months and she swears it has made a difference in her hair. I got a collagen peptide powder that dissolves in a hot beverage and is unnoticeable. (I am very picky about taste and texture!) Fingers crossed that it makes a difference. I'm also trying to make sure I get enough protein. My vegan daughter and son-in-law have been staying with us for the past few months and I might not be getting sufficient protein even though I've been eating a boatload of beans!

Me too, Claudine! Fingers crossed it works. My hair is thin so want to tackle that problem.
Margie, what brand did you get? It was recommended to me to get BioSil. I am going to try it. If it doesn't work so well for me I need to try other things.
Funny you would mention taste and texture. I got powdered version of turkey tail and my coffee just isn't the same (its doable buttt...), lol. I am taking it to a pharm to have them put in cap form :)

I just put some in my turmeric tea.. It disolved well with a bit of stirring and I can't taste it at all. We'll have to check in after 2-3 months and compare notes. My fingers are crossed.
