Longer term lodgings in Rochester, MN

Postby Unitool78 » Fri Jul 24, 2020 7:50 pm

Just had a pretty encouraging visit to Mayo. CT still shows the enlarged problem nodes, and I've developed an incisional hernia, but the PET scan showed NO areas of uptake.

We're stopping chemo and I'll be starting a 5 week course of radiation at Mayo in the next couple weeks.

They're trying to get me a spot at the ACS Hope Lodge, but they're running at around 20% capacity due to COVID so who knows if that'll happen. Looking for other options.

Anybody deal with a similar situation there?

Thinking of finding furnished apartment that do a 1 month lease. Maybe Airbnb? Open to suggestions of things to look for.

You could check out the Residence Inn Marriott—it’s attached to the hospital through the underground walkways and my mom stayed their during her radiation (though hers was short course so only 5 days vs 5 weeks). I’m not sure if they have different “extended stay” pricing but they have a fully furnished kitchenette in each room.
