Bloated But Hungry . . .

Hey everyone . . . so my husband has a partial blockage that we are trying to keep at bay . . . he is basically on a liquid diet (smoothies, ensure therapeutics, etc.) . . . Despite the liquid diet, he has been bloated for at least a week . . . he is passing gas and stool, so things are moving, but he thinks they are just moving very slowly . . . do you think this is just the partial blockage slowing things down?? What else can we do to relieve this bloating?
Thank you!!
jep
p.s. he describes his condition as "bloated but hungry" . . . has anyone experienced this and how did you deal/get relief?

Partial blockages can definitely slow things down. Has he tried chicken bone broth? Sometimes the fat in something like that can satisfy hunger.

Hey Phuong....thank you for your response....he has not tried chicken bone broth, but he has tried bone marrow broth....he has been getting sick at least once a day for the past 2 days and told me tonight that I may need to take him to the ER tomorrow....I told him that I would take him NOW, but he insisted that he would tell me when he needed to go....I am very concerned but trust his instincts, as he has been through it all....
Praying for everyone right now <3

Hey jep
CR here just pulling out some of my training in TCM / Herbal and acupuncture medicine.

Hunger with no will to eat IS a known TCM diagnostic condition.
Spleen Chi deficiency, the "spleen" in TCM being responsible for "transformation and transportation "
there is NO western medical equivalent BUTT .. if things are not being digested and moved along ...... ????

MY point for you now is this :
Yes there are things going on which need to be dealt with = MY choice western medicine / hospitals / xrays / blood tests etc.

BUTT there are also functional changes which do NOT show up on lab tests
e.g. take 1 xray NOW and it all looks good
IF you take 30 xrays over the next 2 hours it may NOT look good.

SO keep the docs looking for a problem AND a cause
Do Not be satisfied until the problem AND solution are in check !!!

Cheers and best wishes
PM/email me anytime
praying right back with you my friend,
with you and hubby on the Journey

Thank you for that post CRGuy....I didn’t realize how much theory/philosophy is out there regarding the spleen....and how connected it is to so many parts of our body’s functioning....unfortunately I had to bring my husband to the ER this morning....his stomach cramping got a lot worse and he began vomiting....I guess the good news is that I’m now allowed to be here with him and he is more comfortable now....IV fluids, Zofran for the nausea....he’s been able to sleep quite a bit too which is great....waiting to hear from the docs regarding his CT scan...

I am so sorry for all that your husband has had to go through. If I remember correctly, he was in the hospital not too long ago. I can't offer advice, butt know that you and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers.

I've had a few blockages, not fun at all. The fact that he is passing some gas is good. I hope this currently situation can clear up without an ER visit.

Hugs to you both,

Lee
