Hi,
I am new to this forum and it is my father's story. He is almost two weeks post op after surgery for stomac removal, the doctor discovered that the cancer has spread into the pancreas and spleen. As those organs cannot be removed at once they did not cut and only hipec therapy has been made.
He is still in a lot of pain after the operation, he did not have it before, and I was wondering if you can share some of your stories, is the pain a good sign here, doea this mean the cancer is getting smaller?
Thank you all

Hi. I'm sorry that your father's in pain. I had a very long and involved cyto-reductive surgery + Hipec... The post-op pain was bad but I had a morphine pump that delivered morphine continously + a button to press to have an immediate dose... Does your father have something like that? He should really talk to his surgeon about this pain. If he doesn't prescribe something for the pain, you could look for a pain-spacialist doctor/team.

If you have other questions, I'll be glad to help you.

All the best.
