Postby Rock_Robster » Mon Jun 15, 2020 7:40 pm

Hi all, of course it’s still early days but very pleased to say my 6 month scans (CT and liver MRI) were all clear. CEA 2.1. Hugely relieved!

Great news Rob! I am not on this forum much, but came back to update my own status, and I’m happy to see a familiar name. This week’s scan (in spite of the detour to the emergency room) was a big one for me. I am now 5 years out from completion of chemo and have had 5 years of stable scans. It has been a wild ride for sure, and although with an ultra low RC there is still a definite risk of late recurrence, I am grateful to have reached this milestone. Congratulations my friend!

Ben Y
Dx 12/2014 T3N2MX (distant LPLN) low rectal
12/2014-4/2015: FOLFOX (8 cycles)
4/2015-6/2015: 28 cycles of chemoradiation with xeloda, SBRT
8/2015: Robotic APR with iliac node dissection; path showed ypT0,ypN0 (complete pathological response).
11/2015 scans clear, CEA 2.1
11/2015 parastomal hernia repair
3/2016 CEA 1.7, scans stable...
6/2020 5 years of normal CEA and stable scans
Now dealing with pyoderma gangrenosum.

Ben that’s amazing news about your 5 years - huge congratulations! If ever there was a milestone worth celebrating, this is a pretty good one. I look forward to joining you there in 4.5 years
