DH is about to start taking aspirin in combination with acetaminophen for sciatica-like pain control; if it can also prevent recurrence then that's a major bonus!

I have been taking aspirin 150 mg since the past 3 years or so.
It is definitely beneficial for people having Lynch Syndrome as per the various articles I have read.
I would strongly recommend it.

I had my 6 month scans and visit today at Mayo. I have been taking a low dose aspirin for over a year now and asked my onc. what the recommended dosage was as I tend to bleed pretty easily. He told me to keep taking what I am, but there isn’t a definitive dosage at this time.

I'm surprised more bowel cancer patients aren't prescribed daily aspirin. I have read about other studies which have shown aspirin reduces your risk for stroke and heart attack too. Unfortunately I'm on anticoagulants for life, so I am not able to take aspirin (too much of a bleeding risk).

For the record I do take daily ASA / aspirin (85 mg) for the cardiovascular benefits, since before diagnosis
BUTT ... still ended up with Stage IV CRC !!!!!
So I guess I would not be in the 50% who benefit for CRC preventives

Having said that, I would / do continue to take it and also would like some more info from better defined studies as to dosages.
85 mg up to 600 mg is a HUGE variation in doses and while the 85 mg really does not affect my clotting factors,
I am sure 600 mg daily would absolutely have an impact of prolonged bleeding times.

It is not always the case that :
" if more is better ... TOO MUCH is just right ! "

Cheers all

I have bi-lateral tinnitus (now it seems kind of silly that this used to worry me, funny how Cancer changes our perspective).

Is it not the case that Aspirin can trigger (or worsen) tinnitus? I know it seems like a good trade off but Tinnitus can be really annoying.

No it is not really annoying homie...
it is MEGA EFFING !!!!!!!! ANNOYING  been there and am doing that as well

True story : my original family Doc once told me that is how they judged the proper DOSE of ASA in the bad old days.
increase the dose until the tinnitus is too bad ... and THEN reduce it
Seriously !

I hear you my friend

Like so much of this CRC nonsense ... it is bearable and does change thru the day,
depending upon ambient background noise and activity.

I understand there are noise cancelling hearing aids which may help with this.

My problem : my hearing acuity is better than my younger wife's,
so I am not ready for ear buds !!!

Can't win sometimes
