Had my Treatment this past Wednesday. I hate how I feel. It's just miserable. Today is Saturday and everything is off, just took off the nuelasta patch. Took a shower. I feel so depressed. FOLFIRI is so hard. My oncologist wants me to do 4 rounds for normal schedule 2 weeks. Then we can scan and see how things look then switch to something to maintain.

I am so fed up, sometimes the thoughts of just giving up swirls my mind.

Please don't get lost in depression. Reach out to a therapist, friends, family. And it is good that you let your CC forum family know how you feel. I think all of us have had low feelings at some point. I'm thinking about you and pray things turn around for you!

I’m really sorry that Folfiri is affecting you so much. How many days do the side effects last? I remember others on this forum saying that when things got really bad like this, they tried to focus on how bad the actual cancer must be doing too by being hammered by the treatment. Hang in there! Chemo is a beast but it does have some amazing results. And like beach sunrise said, do seek help and support when it gets overwhelming. We’re all rooting for you here XXXXX

Thank you for the encouraging posts. FOLFIRI is really hard Chemo. Usually I am down about 4 days of just not wanting to eat or drink. I struggle to do either. I find myself just sitting/sleeping most of the day. By Monday things start to get better. I will keep you guys updated on how this all goes. I think it's only the couple days that I go through the chemo is when I am really depressed and down. I feel like I can't continue. After I recover I am back to my self typically but then my mind wonders about my future. I do see encouraging posts like Mattie and others which makes me press on.

It’s weird how the same regimen will affect people so differently. For my husband, Folfiri was a breeze compared to Xelox. I mean, he’d unhook the chemo pump after the two day slow drip, change his clothes and we’d go for a 20 mile mountain bike ride! By contrast Xelox hit him like a ton of bricks and he’d spend days in bed.
Hopefully you start feeling better today and tomorrow XXXXX

That is crazy Claudine, breezing through FOLFIRI sounds like an oxymoron. I am glad he can handle it better. FOLFOX was also tough for me, I guess I am just a weakling LOL....I feel better today. Today I went to the bathroom and was wiping my behind of mucus I still have everything intact, and a surgical clip came out. I was freaked out and emailed my doctor and he said that is normal and something they put intraoperatively when there is bleeding.
