Diagnosed with stage II Colon Cancer in 2016 had resection done and then 6 months of xeloda . Have been great for 4 years now and then boom recent scan showed 7 cm mass on right side of liver near gallbladder. Did a biopsy and confirmed so just started first round of chemo.
Had a call with a Specialist / Liver Surgeon and and said " it is treatable" recommend 2 months of chemo then hepatic embolization followed by one more month of chemo and then surgery.
When I go in for my treatment yesterday at local oncologist he tells me the specialist wants me to come in and have another biopsy for a better sample to make sure this is not Cholangiocarcinoma. We had just gotten use to the Stage IV Colon Cancer Diagnosis and now not sure what to make of this made the mistake of looking some things up on this and now we are absolutely terrified.
Anyone have any advice or similar situation? Is it possible he is just being extra cautious before doing the embolization? I have not spoken directly to the specialist yet. Suppose to be getting a call from him soon to set up the biopsy and some gene testing.
