Precautions at MD Anderson?

Postby Tdubz » Sat Mar 28, 2020 10:56 pm

Has anyone been to MD Anderson lately? I’m curious what precautions they are taking. Their website mentions no visitors and screenings at the entry points, but It didn’t mention anything about the waiting rooms. I have a scan coming up in a few days and I’m not exactly looking forward to sitting in a packed waiting room for 3 hours.

What about waiting in the hallway instead? That's what I do.

MD Anderson has two areas that they do scans, and the area I am scheduled for is it’s own building. Once you walk in the doors, you are in the waiting room. Unfortunately there is no place to hide.

No idea about your center. The one I go to gives out the buzzers. They have always been proactive way before covid19 with sanitizing them. I take my buzzer and go outside. The buzzer range is pretty far. Can't remember the actual distance but that is what I do.

Dana Farber has been sending me about one email a week talking about the restrictions that they keep adding. The latest is where they have cell-phone parking areas for those driving patients to Dana Farber. I guess you drop off the patient at the door, drive to one of these lots and wait for a phone call to pick them up when they are done. Kind of like the lots at the airport.
