Worries of colon cancer, colonoscopy is being arranged.

Postby Funkadelic » Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:57 pm

I’m a 26 year old woman and for the past over a year now I have experienced cramping (I have an iud, thought it was related to it, received an ultrasound and was told I have 2 cysts. Nothing was done about them as they seemed to be shrinking on their own), loose stools, nausea, fatigue, itchy skin, night sweats, difficulty maintaining weight (I was 120 lbs, went down to 113 for a year and only recently go back up to 119 after getting pneumonia and laying in bed having food made for me). I tried to deal with these symptoms until they got the best of me. Went into the dr in December and got bloodwork paperwork. I stalled on it and finally got it done last week because my symptoms became worse. I now have 2-3 loose stools every morning accompanied by nausea most mornings. My poo is now flat, sometimes with bright red blood, sometimes lots of mucous. Lots of cramping lately. Went in for my results and she said everything looked fantastic. She asked my symptoms, I explained and she became more serious and began saying that my bloodwork is normal but not perfect and that I should be getting a colonoscopy and seeing a dietician. I told her sometimes I have an overwhelming fear I have cancer and she responded that we know our bodies best and sometimes that a persons first inclination. I left the appointment worried and confused. I’m not sure what to think..

Get a colonoscopy.

There is clearly something going on, and the sooner you find out what it is and deal with it the sooner you'll feel better.

I'm not going to engage in diagnosing without a licence and over the internet, no less, but there are some pretty obvious things this could be that are NOT cancer.

Best of luck to you.

I kinda was going through the exact same thing. Swore up and down I had cancer or a chronic disease. Turns out it was just a huge polyp that was causing everything to go wrong. My symptoms lasted a year before I got it checked. Just had surgery to get it out and although its been a painful recovery so far I'm so glad I got it checked when I did. I'm a 27 year old male btw.
