Post Op Questions(Colectomy)
Had my sigmoid colon removed a week ago almost. Im having trouble with constipation even though I'm taking a stool softener. Did have two movements today and there was dark red blood streaked in with the stool. That is ok correct? My doctors office is closed today so I can't call him about it but I'm just wondering if others experienced the same thing

I had some bleeding after my bowel surgery, and was told that passing small amounts of dark blood in the weeks following is quite normal. If it became larger amounts or fresh blood, I was to call my surgeon. Hope that gives some comfort today but please do check for your case still!

I'm sorry you're going through this!*hugs* I would let your doctor know about the blood to be on the safe side.

Hello. I was wondering how you were doing and if the blood in stool is gone? I recently had a sigmoid resection and have blood in stool and on paper and today is a day over 3 weeks since surgery. Hope you are doin well.
