Welcome to the group and I'm sorry for your diagnosis!*hugs* It's such a roller coaster especially when you're first diagnosed. I hope you won't have to wait long for test results and surgery. I found it helpful to bring a list of questions with me to appointments.

Welcome to the group! I was floored when I was diagnosed...no symptoms and perfect blood work. It was found during a routine colonoscopy. I know how you are feeling and so does everyone else in this group. When I asked the surgeon how this happened..he said it is 50% genetics and 50% environment. Once you get more detailed info, we are here to help you through this journey.

Iyana271 wrote:The worst news I've ever heard this week is that I'm diagnosed with colon cancer. I got my biopsy results last week and the doctor said that I'm diagnosed with colon cancer. I'm just stunned that I've got this disease even after following a healthy style. I don't know what to expect after hearing this and what treatments I'll have to go through and how much time it will take to cure the disease.
Just hoping for the best!

I'm sorry you're going through this. I had a lot of anger when I was first diagnosed because I was so healthy and people I knew that didn't exercise or care what they ate were just living their life as normal. It seemed so unfair. You'll get a lot of support here.

My DH was 30 when diagnosed and its basically a violent shove into old age.

You're going to experience a wide range of emotions throughout your new roller coaster track of life, I know this and im just a sideline cheerleader for my big brave hubby also because I've had a wide array of emotions myself. The good news is you're not alone there's good people with great info, feedback, and often amazing advice.

One thing that helped me through the initial shock the first few months when I had negative thoughts/ feelings I wrote them down in a journal just to expel them from my constant thought. I wish you luck on your long road.

We also were shocked when we heard the news. My husband also had a pretty healthy lifestyle. It's a hard think to accept. I always though cancer happened to other people, not me or my family. I was humbled!
