We had also seen this story. It seems very realistic, as CAR-T has been working - just not for our solid tumors yet.
If we can be strong long enough for this to get tested and to market, this may be the cure for us.

FYI
as both radnyc and Ehut had posted separate news releases about this,
I put a reference post into our Ongoing NEWS topic as well, listing the original paper
Immune discovery 'may treat all cancer'

I know this is still at the "mouse" stage... BUTT...
finding a commonality in our immune systems which could target all cancers
IS EXCITING !!!!

Cheers all

This sounds a lot like TIL research trial I had done at NIH. They just found a maker that may work better. I would think they could move to trying on humans pretty quickly since most of what they are doing has been done
11/13 total blockage DX colon cancer IV, colostomy
1/14 folfox
3/14 liver resection NED
8/14 last chemo
12/14 colostomy reversal
8/16 3mets to lungs
10/16 trial at NIH TIL
9/17 partial responder to TIL protocol

Looks like Dr Rosenberg’s TIL trial at NIH. The TIL trial uses selected T-cells that express reactivity to your specific tumor mutations and are grown in the lab by the billions and replace your T-cells that don’t fight Cancer. This UK trial is same premis, but they appear to use all your T-cells because they ALL Express reactivity to cancers. It appears they deliver them via a virus. My Wife is in the TIL trial and is showing 23% shrinkage in her lung Mets and 95% reduction in her brain tumor and 2 lesions in the liver have shrunk 90% Last week. This was based on her 18 week follow up since her TIL infusion.

My thought as well. The article is too simplified to make a determination on its usefulness and universality.
