Colonoscopy

Postby margiej » Mon Jan 20, 2020 9:05 am

I had my 4 year colonoscopy on Friday (last colonoscopy was 3 years ago) and everything looked great. Mayo changed its instructions.. Low residue diet two days before and only clear liquids the day before. Previously a light breakfast and lunch were allowed the day before. So while I was really hungry, the prep was actually the easiest (miralax and Gatorade).. never felt sick to my stomach like I have in the past. Next colonoscopy in 5 years :)

Congratulation on a good scope. I few be in your shoes in a few short weeks.

WOW  you used to be able to eat a light meal the day before a prep. I'm coming up on 16 years since I was diagnosed and I don't ever remember being allow to eat the day before the scope.

Actually, I learned a long time ago to eat a light meal the day before i start prepping. eggs, cottege cheese, etc.

Again, congratulation.

I am a fan of the Miralax and Gatorade combo too. My GI doc also throws in a couple of Dulcolax.

I was never allowed to eat anything the day before (only clear liquids and non-red jello). I've learned it's smart to go low residue for a few days before though.

Congrats on a clear scan! :D Now go eat something delicious to celebrate!!!

Love the lyrics.. Thanks for the laugh! And nothing is more true than "what goes in, must come out."
