Thinking this might be the start of another recurrence

Postby Mattie » Thu Dec 26, 2019 12:26 pm

Hi all,

On Xmas eve, got my latest scan results. It was a good result, considering my history. the only new finding was:

"Mild wall thickening at anastomosis"

I'm thinking the only thing that would cause this is the start of a new met. Anyone have any insights?

Thanks,
Sue

I don't know the answer, but I would suspect that there are many possible explanations for "mild wall thickening". It looks like more information will be needed before any conclusion can be reached.

In my case, anomalies near the anastomosis cropped up after around 5 years, but they were due to emerging diverticulosis. My doctor told me that metastases near the anastomosis (i.e., local mets as opposed to distant mets) usually occur within the first 2 years after surgery if they are going to occur at all.
