Hey everyone....so sorry that I haven’t been on with an update....my husband did come home on Sunday (which we are all thrilled about!!). It’s been a busy week though with 2 separate trips to Yale. First he had a CT scan on Monday, and today we met with his oncologist. He feels that it will not benefit my husband to continue with the trial :( He does not feel that the tumor growth is swelling (or pseudo progression), but cancer cells growing :( We were pretty disappointed about this news....he feels my husband should give folfox another shot (as it’s really the only chemo that kept things at bay)....so I guess that’s where we are....he needs rest and healing in order to start folfox in January....the CT scan also showed fluid in the left lung....his onc feels he should have that drained....trying to get that done ASAP (before the holiday madness)....that definitely explains why my husband has been short of breath.....there is some positive news....he is eating and the bypass/colostomy seems to be working....he did not have to go home with a PICC or with TPN....my job right now is to make sure he gets all necessary procedures and follow ups, make sure he’s taking his meds, and keep him comfy and happy while he heals :)
Thank you for your support....as you all know, this is not easy...
