New Info re Vaccination and Keytruda/immunotherapy

Postby boxhill » Fri Oct 25, 2019 5:22 pm

Before I started Keytruda, in the info session I was informed that I couldn't have any vaccinations at all, not even killed vaccines. On chemo (FOLFOX) I was allowed killed vaccines.

This week my oncologist informed me that a new white paper has come out stating that it is okay to be vaccinated while on Keytruda, and, I think, immunotherapy in general. So now I'm apparently cleared to get a flu shot, the 2-part pneumonia vaccine, and even Shingritz. (I've had the earlier version of the latter two.)

The flu shot in particular will make me feel a lot more secure in crowds!
