Hey everyone,

Looking for any experiences with lung cryoablation. I’m scheduled to have this done next month and was curious as to what the procedure and recovery are like.thanks

Everyone is different but what I can tell you is they popped one of my lungs doing the procedure. If this happens you cannot fly on an airplane for 14 days afterward, it made us have to drive from Houston to Tucson. Just be ready if you fly to treatment.

Are you awake for the procedure?

Hi Tdubz. Good to see you!

I can't provide any lung cryo info - sorry.
So I take it you got the liver situation sussed out? Last I recall you had what appeared to be recurrence near the gallbladder?

I hope everything goes well for you.

Yep, did a small resection on the liver and that went great. Probably one of the easiest surgeries I’ve had. Then on the follow up for that surgery they found a spot in my lungs had grown to 4mm. Still too tiny to do anything about so we waited 3 months and scanned again. This time it had grown to 7 mm so now I’m scheduled for the ablation. I guess for being stage iv, I’ve been relatively lucky. With each reoccurrence, the cancer has been isolated to one tumor and we have caught it when it’s really small each time. I’m hoping third times a charm and we can finally get one step ahead instead of playing catch up all the time.

Tdubz, since you don't have a signature : are you/will you be on any type of adjuvant "mop-up" chemo following your single recurrence removals? If so, what kind?
Thanks, I hope this one is the last one for you!

Hi claudine, after my colon resection I did 11 rounds of folfox. The oncologist at md Anderson did not recommend adjuvant chemo for me after the liver resection. I’m not sure what they will recommend now after the lung ablation though.

Glad to hear your liver resection went well. I hope your lung ablation is as smooth and you'll enter into NED for good.

Keep on battling.
