What are options your team has suggested? Before my liver met was known, I had multiple lung mets about the same size (8mm). Chemotherapy was the best option at that time. I wasn’t offered surgery or radiation given the number and size. Has that been offered as an option other than chemo?

I've had lung mets three separate times. The first two times I had VATS surgeries which were great. They got rid of the met, were an easy recovery and gave a pathology which was helpful. The third time everyone was in agreement that another surgery could compromise my lungs so I had SBRT. This was also an easy procedure which I would recommend for the most part if you can't do surgery. The recovery is fine but it leaves behind a lot of scarring which makes scans almost impossible to read for about a year. Also, there is no pathology after the fact. I like to know if it was definitely cancer and if it is a colorectal met and not a new primary cancer.
Stage 3C (or 4?) Rectal Cancer 01/07
2/10 lung mets
3/11 VATS
6/11 VATS
7/13 lung met
2/14 SBRT
NED 8/14

I'd think that with a single met, SBRT would be a good option; DH had too many so chemo was the way to go, and apparently Folfiri + Avastin did the trick as they're no longer visible on scan.
ams5796, I see in your signature that you had a spinal met - did you do SBRT for it as well? Is it stable now? That's how DH's cancer was diagnosed (lytic met in L4) and he had SBRT done on it last February. I'm interested to hear from others who've had this done on their spine!
