I came cross a research paper, published recently in Science, by an MIT team. The team developed a vaccine that could increase the numbers of CAR-T Cells in human body by up 200 times. Therefore, it would become realistic that CAR-T cells are to kill solid tumors. They plan to start clinical trials in 1-2 years.

It seems solid tumors are more different to treat than liquid tumors. I am closely following the progress of Prof. Ronald Levy'work of Stanford University. Their cancer vaccine that made a big splash in Jan 2018 is currently only being tested in slow glowing Lymphomas, in combination of radiation.
