Foods TO eat and pass easily but not too easily?

Postby SilverWedding » Tue Jul 23, 2019 6:49 am

I’ve researched to find a million foods to AVOID to during irritation for rectal soreness during/after radiation. I understand “find what works for you” too. But does a list of GOOD FOODS TO EAT exist?? Experimentation time is bad - my hubby is looking weaker daily and feeling it like you all have - fatigue, nausea, and razor blades along with a low tumor that feels bigger.

Any thoughts on probable GOOD foods to eat? I see everything to avoid. What’s left? Just BRAT diet - bananas, rice?, applesauce, tea.

I wish I had more details, but he isn’t forthcoming on details. He just said pain all the time and passing glass (not gas).

Will get Lidocaine, portable bidet bottles.

Just looking for what he SHOULD eat.

Thank you, everyone.

These are the guidelines I received when I underwent chemo/rad.

Basically low fiber, you can also google low residue diet for more info.

I found yoghurt was good - particularly kefir. Easy to eat and pass, fairly high calorie, and good for restoring gut bacterial health.
