The Colon Club

Had my 6 month CT scan last week. Chest and abdominal CTs both came back clean. CEA was at 2.0.

Next appointment is in 3 months for bloodwork. Next CT scan in 6-12 months.

If I can just get rid of this c diff infection, I'll be happy. I just finished up my 2nd round of vancomycin after it came back. Why does this keep happening when I'm attending a conference? -.- At least this time I caught it fairly early. Sigh.

Yay great news!!

Saw a Nurse Practitioner today, and she put me on a Vancomycin taper to try to help get rid of the c diff. Apparently that's what's recommended on a first reoccurrence.

If I don't get rid of it I'll likely have it periodically for the rest of my life. I'm so frustrated that I was advised that it probably wasn't c diff and that I should just take some immodium. That was terrible advice and I can't help wondering if I would now be cured if I'd just gone to the ER rather than listening to my surgeon's nurse.

I guess it could be worse. I'd rather deal with occasional c diff than more colon cancer.
