Ice Pop During Chemo

So, I am not perfect and ate an icicle pop on day two of chemo. I am on Folfox. Now I am talking like Mike Tyson. Please, someone tell me this is not permanent.

It’s not permanent. I used to have this when I went outside in the winter for any period of time. I would arrive in a coffee shop and could barely order my coffee. Once you warm up you should be fine.

But how did you tolerate eating it in the first place??

I can't tolerate anything from the refrigerator, I couldn't imagine something from the freezer. My mouth would fall off.

It's not permanent. I started XELOX in December 2017 in New Hampshire. First day going home it was about 24 degrees and there was a blizzard out. My hands were in pain because the steering wheel was so cold. So it may be painful but it will go away.

I think that my eyes froze open too and breathing was painful because the air was so cold.

Eating has not been so bad besides the electric shock feeling in my cheeks whenever I first introduce food into my mouth. I am sure that is a side effect of the chemo as well.

Ouch!! That sounds painful. When DH was on XELOX anything not warm felt like swallowing glass shards.
Among the weird "electric shock" symptoms he experienced: Lhermitte Sign. He would bend his head and an electric shock would shoot all the way down to his calves! Because of his vertebrae tumor, his onc ordered a neck MRI but it came back clean; it was just a side effect of chemo, and eventually disappeared.
