Upper abdomen Bloating

Postby Artelo » Tue Jul 09, 2019 2:43 pm

Had rectal cancer removed in December. Hospitalized in January for a c-diff infection. Got out late January and things slowly got back to new normal. I was fortunate. Stage 1 no lymph node involvement. No chemo or radiation after surgery.

Lately I’m having a LOT of gas and upper abdominal bloating. I’m very uncomfortable most of the time. Should I be concerned about recurrence or is this typical. I feel full most of the time and am not very hungry. No weight loss though. Thoughts anyone?

When my dad had lots of gas after his surgery. The surgeon wanted to use tube to decompress him, but we rejected it because he walk often and passing gas. Maybe try to walk often. You can get a blood test for CEA. Oncologist uses it as a marker for colon cancer.
