That’s awesome news, AmyG!

Based just on the longest measurement alone, that’s a 20% reduction which is very nice. However based on area visible on a 2D scan it’s more like a 50% reduction!

And because of geometry fun, what you’ve quoted could correspond to up to ~60% reduction in tumour volume! (I’ve had to make an assumption there as one dimension is missing).

This is overall similar to (or a bit better than) my response after 4 FOLFOX rounds, and both I and my oncologist were very happy with that. When they subsequently resected the lesions, the tumour tissue was between 40% - 80% dead.

Aside from shrinkage before surgery, one of the more important parts of this treatment is to confirm that your tumour biology is sensitive to the chemo, and thus a good chance of having ‘systemic control’. I’m no oncologist but I’d find this very encouraging.

I love your math!!! Waiting on labs, then off to see the oncologist. Then we start round #5! Afaik, I'm getting CEA drawn today too.

So pleased to hear you had such a good response, I'm hoping when they get to my liver, there's not much tumor left.

That sounds like a significant reduction to me!

The only advice I would share is to make sure you and your doctors are looking closely for a plateau. In retrospect, I think we should have seen signs of plateauing much sooner than we did, and if we had, we might have moved forward to surgery more quickly. So just keep an eye on things. And if you haven't had a surgical consult yet, do it sooner versus later.

I'm guessing your CEA will decline as well. Keep us posted!

Oncologist was pleased, she called me amazing. Might do a little bit more chemo before resection to shrink it more.

CT scheduled for 7/17 and that should help them determine when they want to cut that f'ing thing out.

Currently waiting in the lobby to do cycle 5. No CEA results in mychart yet. I've had awful diarrhea since Tuesday, so they made me give them a stool sample. Guess who doesn't have water pouring out her backside anymore? Of course not. Just like I don't have a bleed anymore.
