Good news (and diarrhea) from scan

Hey all!
Had my 2 year scan today. My appointment for results was suppose to be Thursday, so I knew the wait would be rough. However, they called me today! When I saw that number I about fell over- assuming the worst.
But it was good news. Normal scans, normal CEA!
Just thought I’d hop on here to share the good news.

Also- in an effort to avoid google searching  ... does anyone know if diarrhea is a side effect of ct scans?

Have a great day!

Congrats on your scans! I have the exact opposite after scans...constipation! When I brought this up to the onc, he said that I was not the norm. He said most people have diarrhea. I guess you are the norm.

Interesting! Thanks for the reply. Good to be “normal” in some regard

Congrats KS on the 2 year clean scan :).

In the past I've had diarrhea with use of the barium-sulfate drink.
For my 2 year they did not have me use it. So I didn't experience that side effect as much.
I did get the typical dull headache for the day though.

As benben said I think it depends on the contrast you are given.
I don't ask the names of what they are giving me, but only one time I was given the thick chalky contrast which gave me the runs as soon as the scan was over. I felt obligated to apologize to the staff because I used up all the TP in the bathroom and left a horrendous odour too
Other scans were with the clear contrast that just made me pee. A lot....

So glad you had good results.
