DH did about 13 rounds total of it. They cut him from it when he started having trouble swallowing *neuropathy in his throat*. He had about 7 rounds before liver surgery and then another 6 a year later after a reoccurrence

Hi ,
My mum has had it twice . 10% less the second year and made a big difference with the side effects . The second year was much better .
Take care,

My wife took it after recurrence after 4 years of NED. It is doing the job and shrinking new growth. It is not an easy drug to take, I know. She is happy to keep taking it as long as it is showing progress working again. On treatment day she naps, but the following days are progressively better and by day 3 she is back to normal.

Good luck!

Hi, I am starting oxiplatin again. I had 12 sessions in 2013. My cancer marker went up to 55. I am scared of all the side effects. Ordered heated insoles for the Cold Winter months. Did anyone else have good results the second time? Did the cancer marker go down?

I did 12 round last year. Recurring after 6 months, surgery then oxi at 60%. Ct scan is clear but my cea go up from 1.9 to 3.5 after 5 treatments. Neuropathy is not as bad this time compared to the last. I do Accupunture one or twice a week and have ice chip in my mouth. Ice pack on my feet during oxi infusion. This helps with cold sensitivity. I learn this from Healio.com under article “ Ice chips a ‘no-cost intervention’ to improve oxaliplatin-induced oral symptoms” if you want to check that out.
Good luck.

My mum got the same shrinkage the second time round as she achieved the first . It was during one of the worst winters we have had . We had her well wrapped up . You could only see her eyes . Kept the house nice and warm and all was well .
She had a reduced dose the second time by 20% and it still worked but reduced some of the worst side effects . She was out for her coffees and enjoyed family life when she could .
Take care,
Stu
