Isn't it plain the sheets of moss, except that
they have no tongues, could lecture
all day if they wanted about

spiritual patience? Isn't it clear
the black oaks along the path are standing
as though they were the most fragile of flowers?

...if the doors of my heart
ever close, I am as good as dead.

Every morning, so far, I'm alive. And now
the crows break off from the rest of the darkness
and burst up into the sky-as though

all night they had thought of what they would like
their lives to be, and imagined
their strong, thick wings.

I have no personal knowledge. On the UOAA website, she said that she was going into hospice and would not be posting anymore. I'm hoping that someone will update, but I'm not going to brother her at this time. I want her to know how she helped so many people. If I should hear anything, I will be glad to update. I could be wrong, but my gut felling she is still with us.

She got C diff and that created a cycle of medical issues. As she put it, her quality of life is not there now. She spend several weeks in the hospital. Her medical team felt she probably would not recover from this cycle of medical issues.

I have communicated some recently w/Karen & she did give me unqualified permission to share. I just haven't done it. Intend to share a couple of excerpts out of courtesy to forum members who have expressed concern so eloquently. I will briefly say that she had another recent stay in the hospital, is receiving IV antibiotic therapy so not on hospice quite yet (that I know of). And she is lovely, articulate Karen. More later when I have some time.

We need some bigger songs.........

I don't do yoga, never tried Pilates
Not many people want me at their parties
Tryna find my place, some place, oh I, oh I, oh I
And I drink a little more than recommended
This world ain't exactly what my heart expected
Tryna find my way someway, oh I, oh I, oh I

Sharing excerpts from an earlier email(s) of Karen's as I said I would:

My body is tired beyond tired. I am exhausted
from being less than well for the past 3 years,
a gradual and insidious erosion of health and life.
I am tired of constant pain. No respite. Pain
Changes the basic fabric of one’s sense of self and being. I am ready for rest. It is all OK.

Feel free to share any part of what I
have shared with you with the members of Colon Club. I always felt welcomed by the Colon club.
I will always appreciate the friendships formed and the humanity of people helping people.

(: K :)

Karen's Wishes:
Send out energy and positive prayer that I have a graceful transition when it is my time, NOT for a cure or recovery for which there no is no feasible possibility.
I do not want to merely exist in ever worsening health. An endless cycle of hospital admissions and deterioration. I want people to offer me gentle prayer for a smooth transition to what lies ahead and prayer for an easing of my pain and prayer for God/Higher power to watch over the family that I will leave behind.

Karen tells me that she is running out of steam, may not be able to correspond much longer.

You are a rare find, Miss Molly.
We had us some good times here on CT, didn't we?
Prayers that you are released from the shackles of pain; that you fly with the angels to the light that awaits you.

Sometimes when I read someone's posts here I try to picture what they look like.
After reading so many of Miss Molly's I decided that she must be a modern version of Audrey Hepburn.
Gracious and strong and proud. But without the long gloves....

My thoughts are with you. Your journey in this life has presented many challenges, yet you choose to focus on providing positivity always. Thank you.
