I don't know if I shared my good news here, but I passed the 5 year mark recently with no adverse test results during that time. It was an emergency extended right hemicolectomy with a complete blockage and two small perforations away from the tumour. I hope my good news encourages anyone who is starting their fight. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer just before the five years was up, but that's another story. I've completed radiotherapy for that. Best wishes to all.

Latest update: 8/21/23 Clear CT with CEA 2.6!

Me: 34, first colonoscopy 11/16/18—normal! Come back in 5 years.

Stage IIB, pT4aN0 (first pathology DX: pT3N0)
0/24 lymph nodes, LVI present, PNI present, surgical margins clear, MSS
CEA: 3.0 (pre-op, 7-10-18); 0.7 (post-op, 8-8-18)
TX: Xeloda (capecitabine), 10-16-18 to 4-21-19
5 years of clear scans and colonoscopies :D
Released from MSK surveillance, 7-20-23 - NED :D

Happy anniversary! And good luck with this new fight. Prostate cancer seems to be one that gets among the highest rate of cure these days, so hopefully you'll clear this new hurdle too!

KRAS mut, MSS, Highly Differentiated, Lynch Neg, 5FU/LV and Avastin 1 YR (Oxi for 5 months), Zeloda/Bev since 01/2016. 02/2019 recurrence para-nodes, back to 5FU/LV Oxy/Bev. It is working again.
