New here

Postby Jen43 » Sat Mar 23, 2019 10:00 pm

Hi

I am new here. On Feb 27th I had a colonoscopy which I was having cause I needed and endoscopy to check if I hav3 bleeding veins cause I have cirrhosis good news was I don’t.

Bad news is a spot was found in my colon biopsy and was told March 5th it’s colon cancer. I am 39 years old and like anyone scared out of my mind. My Dr said it seems early but we won’t know for sure till it’s removed I meet with the surgeon on April 1.

I have had a CT scan March 20 which came back no Mets.

I am looking for support, information and anything else I should be getting tested for.

I think I will be left side colon removal surgery

Before your meeting with the surgeon, you could read the relevant sections of the NCCN Guidelines on Colon Cancer. It's an 88 page document, so there's plenty of information there.

NCCN Guidelines on Colon Cancer.

Another thing you could do is to look over the table of contents of the booklet below to help identify issues that you, as a younger patient, should be concerned with:
