Second PET scan

Postby Mohrfamily » Thu Mar 21, 2019 10:31 am

So my husband got his second pet scan last week and the general consensus was good his liver is not lighting up like New York City still saying that there's greater than six or seven spots but it's easier to count them now
Our oncologist suggested talking to a radiologist about maybe zapping the bigger spots so she had left the room to go talk to him and show him the pictures real quick and he says that the case is a little tricky wants to talk to a couple other radiologist and we are going to do a consult with him in two weeks
It's also been suggested that a pretty nasty looking mole on his side get removed as soon as possible which go figure I've been telling him to have that thing checked for a couple years now and he waits for it to actually get really nasty looking yeah colleges definitely suggested have it removed not necessarily looked at have it removed
Not jumping up and down for Joy news but slow progression is good progression
DH dx stage IV liver mets largest 6x6.4 cm
Colonoscopy/endoscopy/port place 5/29
4cm mass in splenic flexure
1st round FolFox 5/30
08/2018 new CT no new lesions, clear lungs, slight decrease in colon.
3/2019 PET scan shows greater than 6-7 liver mets largest measuring 3x3 cm. No growth nothing new.
8/15/19 largest liver lesion 1.9x2.1
9/16/2019 OSU to proceed with surgery implant HAI and colon resection
11/19 resection of colon HAI placed
2/20 CEA back to 1000s, liver worse than when we began-start FOLFIRI

I'm trying to settle into the fact that surgery may not be in the cards for us.

Literally everything has been a complicated mess for my hubby. Nothing has been cut and dry or simple. He's built to be difficult apparently. Such is life I suppose. I was happy the oncologist said she was super worried in the beginning and in the beginning the look on her face worried me to my core and now it's a totally different look and more open idea suggestions.

Keeping the faith and pressing on!
