Fear I might have crc

Postby Kpguy » Tue Mar 19, 2019 6:10 am

I don’t have any of the traditional symptoms Iike bleeding or any bowel function issues. I do have a dull pain on the left side where I estimate the sigmoid joins the rectum. I also sometimes have a sciatica type shooting pain that goes all the way to my foot. None of the pain is severe. Adding to this, I’ve been having a strange mild pain in my chest when I breathe deeply, but it’s not consistently reproducible.

I’ve had major stress recently due to my fathers death from stage 4 bladder cancer. The stresses feed each other so I’m really starting to worry.

I met with my gp and I was referred to a gi doc for a colonoscopy consult. It’s been almost a year from then to my appointment in 2 weeks. No real change in my symptoms other than the chest thing.

I did have a cycstoscopy to check my bladder and it’s fine. Also, pelvic ultrasound which was also clear. Blood work does not show anemia.

Am I crazy to think that all signs point to stage 4 crc spread to my lungs?

I know I need to talk to a doctor. I have appointments booked. I was hoping someone could let me know if they have had a similar experience with symptoms.

Every one of us has a unique experience with cancer. As we are not doctors, we cannot speculate on your situation.

Only a colonoscopy will tell for sure if anything is wrong with you. Good luck.

I'm sorry that you received such an unhelpful response. Obviously you knew we were not doctors. :)

I personally haven't had symptoms like that, but then my cancer was right sided. It strikes me that there are various conditions other than CRC that could produce such symptoms, and I am wondering why you and your physician focused on that possibility to the exclusion of others. ETA: I rechecked your post and see that you did have some other tests.

Having a colonoscopy will certainly tell you about the state of your colon, at least.
