My birthday is Feb. 20, on that day 7 years ago I had a major problem with my bag, actually the day before . I had an appointment with the my surgeon, and showed up nearly comatose. I was immediately transferred to the emergency ward. That was not a pleasant experience. I was admitted to the hospital with a tube down my nose. And then I spent a few hours, being poked and prodded. My surgeon told me he was going to take the bag off, after only 3 weeks, as it seems we did not get along. After surgery, the surgeon propped his foot against the wall, and asked why didn't you go to the Emergency room, when you felt so bad. My reply was "It was my birthday " His reply was, "So you would rather die on your birthday, than come to the emergency room " Just saying if you feel bad go to the emergency room !

Bro Nut

I am grateful to all stories like this one. My husband is a stage IV coming up on a full year of treatments. We have also been to memorial Sloan Kettering and we are still waiting for our day to come off "Good work lets get you to surgery"

DH had responded well to chemo he fights the fight and gives it his all he is covered in vectibix rash because he refused to do anything less than everything to save his life for me, and our young children. He's my hero. He's got a lot of disease all over his liver but chemo has been doing a number on it. I remain hopeful/prayerful as does my husband that we will get to surgery on "His" time not ours. This board pointed me to Memorial Sloane Kettering and I'll be forever grateful for that too.

You survivors are inspiration to me and your wisdom that I share with my husband makes him feel less alone. Thank you all
