Canadians and Immunotherapy

Postby Stewsbetty » Mon Feb 11, 2019 10:01 pm

Hello all,

Looking to gather stories of successful users of immunotherapy in Canada. Please share your story here. Or contact me through the PM button. It would be neat to get a group together for potentially lobbying for faster approval.

Thanks,

Beth

Good on you . I have been raising it here too . We are behind in Bowel cancer but keeping up in other primaries. So annoying . Then I noticed a trial for Immuotherapy for MMS patients which I assume is the High Tumour Mutation Burden . Not only that but it’s my city so I am off and running putting the news out there .
We have to influence where we can .

This is from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. I hope by showing this, it can "prime the pump" for information that you are seeking in Canada. Together, the free world should be able to work in synergy on this issue.

Good luck and best wishes on your research.

Just a little light reading for folks to get up to speed
Google search = immunotherapy Canada

I will link this topic to the Calling ALL Colorectal CANUCKS ! topic
and our current Adjuvant immunotherapy topic

Here is a search specifically for BC Cancer Agency immunotherapy
PMH Toronto will also have a good set of resources.

Cheers all

As far as I know, immunotherapy has yet to be approved in Canada for msi-high CRC cases or regular ones for that matter .
Though oncologists can get approval on case to case basis.
Hopefully, situation will improve soon and immunotherapy drugs such as nivolumab and keytruda are approved in Canada.
