So scared I cant stop crying

Postby Pleasedontletitbe » Sun Feb 10, 2019 4:38 pm

Been constipated for about 3 weeks now took some laxatives and when they kicked in I noticed blood when I wiped and it was only the once so far but the next day I was constipated again my stool has little black specks in it alot and my poop is soft but hard to push out I'm 23 with cystic fibrosis so it puts me at increased risk for colon cancer for the past 3 days all I can push out is pebbles and have lots of gas and stomach rumbling mainly at night i have a colonoscopy scheduled for the 20th and I cant stop crying cause I show all the signs of colon cancer and it's all happened so fast was pooping fine one day and the next not I don't know what to do anymore or how I can handle it I'm afraid its spread to my liver cause my poop is a pale color

First avoid Dr. Google!! The information out there is either out of date or flat out wrong. Until you get that scope ask questions here and vent your frustration. Believe me, you all understand your fear.

Your symptoms could be cause by many things, cancer is just "one" possibility. So don't assume it's cancer.

For what it's worth, I had no symptoms. No pain, no constipation, nothing, just bleeding hemorrhoids. All test that should have been a red flag for cancer, came back neg or normal. My PCP figured my hemorrhoids were my excuse for getting my baseline early in life. The rest is history.

Many years ago, my mother ended up in the ER with serious stomach pain and rectal bleeding. A colonoscopy was done, no cancer, not even one polyp, just a bad case of of diverticulotisis. So again, do not assume you have cancer. Something could be going on, but cancer is just "one" possibility out of many.

Butt do get that scope. Anytime there is bleeding, it should be checked out. That colonoscopy will give you a true diagnoses, anything else is just a speculation.

Hope this helps, again don't just "assume" it's cancer.

Lee

PS Edited to add, maybe increase your water intake, it might help with the constipation.

I am sorry for all that you have been going through. I was a little bit older than you are now, I broke it off with him, 3 months later I'm talking to a therapist, crying my heart out. What's wrong with me, therapist replied, "life, sometimes it just piles up". Sometimes it's hard to be young. But know, "this too shall pass" and you will have good days again.

I suspect stress is probably effecting your quality of life right now. Why were you in the hospital recently? Eating the wrong food can cause constipation. Cheese will bulk me faster than anything, greens especially spinach will have me going in an hour.

Does colon cancer run in your family?

Over the next 10 days, be kind to yourself, Try to find things that puts a smile on your face. Sometimes just walking can really help emotionally. Know that when one door closes (end of engagement) another door opens, usually a better one.

Every time you think I've got cancer, remember your symptoms could be caused by many things. It may turn out to be nothing at all. Good friend of my mine, her 25 yr old daughter was scoped. They were not really worried about cancer, but why she was having stomach issues. I forgot what they diagnosed her with, butt it was NOT cancer.

Again, please avoid Dr. Google, you can diagnoses yourself with anything with Dr. Google.

You are not alone here,

Hi there, so sorry ur going threw such a tough patch ATM, but as previously stated, it will pass, it will just take time,,,
For what it's worth, my youngest son has CF so I'm pretty familiar with this condition...

First if all as far as I'm aware, there is no direct link between CF and Colon cancer ( but as always I'm up for correction on that )
Secondly, many CF patient suffer with bowel issues because of the pancreatic insufficiency, and bowel blockage being a common thing,
Also blood in stool because of the blockage, and inflammation, both in the bowel and pancreas and also stomach,,,, Ur creon my b inaccurate fir u and thus will most certainly cause gastric issues,,,

Hopefully you will get it sorted out either way and in the meantime try to calm down, because even though the symptoms SEEM To point to cancer, they also seem to be completely CF related

Cf does have a 5 to 10 times higher chance of developing it yet they dont screen till 40 for it I just got out of the hospital recently which is why I have to wait so long for the colonoscopy I've never had bowel issues till these last 3 weeks it was all of a sudden

As it is coming up to Valentine's Day and you are in the ranks of the newly-dumped, stay away from TINDER as well as Dr. Google. You might
like to join in with El Paso Zoo who will name a cockroach after your ex and then feed it to a meerkat live on camera this Valentine's Day.

I can relate to you my health has got me down lately. And when you worry it makes everything worse so try to block that out. Do things you like and talking it out really helps.I also have blood sometimes in my poo i have to have colonoscopy in march. I also had an operation back in November a colon resection.

Glad to hear Ur having normal( ISH) stool,
everything in life will attribute Ur increase Risk if cancer really.........
Overweight
Drinker
Meat eater
IBS , ETC
Evironmental issues
Chemicals
Plastics
I could go on and on,,,,, ( so it's generally not just one thing)

While u have very rightly gone and had this looked into.
Just because it is "Risk " doesn't men u will develop any,,,
TBH I'm not aware of anyone with CF and Colon cancer (if that's any concelation), but that's just n my circle
If u then look at vegans/ vegetarians, non drinker, non smokers,Health fanatics etc, that have it so unfortunately sometimes is just unlucky, but u can't live under the worry of waiting for it to happen.
Hopefully this is a blessing and Ur all clear but hopefully u will continue to have Ur colonoscopy regularly, and then u should never develop CRC.
NB have you had Ur blood markers take for cancer???

Well at least Ur getting a colonoscopy pretty quickly , so thats good,
Can't understand why they still don't do bloods( not expansive, or difficult) but every practice is different I suppose
Fingers crossed for u for next week for a negative result
