I had a 3.5 cm polyp on the ileocecal valve which was removed by EMR, and was benign. Unfortunately, there were a few cells left, which continue to grow back, so I had 2 more follow up proceedures, and will have another in July. If there is more growth I could still end up needing surgery, but hopefully you will have more success!
Resection of splenic flexure 7/24/13
T3N2BM0, Stage 3c,12/29 nodes
Folfox x12 9/13-3/14
CT scan 4/14, enlarged spleen, otherwise clear
CT 4/15, spleen WNL.
6/17 3 cm benign polyp at ileocecal valve, awaiting removal

I'm with the NHS in Northern Ireland. Initial biopsies are benign. The Doctor said it would be removed in several pieces.
