LPL & Lee,

I crack up each time I read the punch line - and that's the last thing that I remember....
so so my experience when I was about 6 years old and placed a camp chair over a
bulldog ant's nest.......you only ever do THAT once in your life, believe me

Thanks, mob, for that information about the sculpture which is called
'Les chuchoteuses' or 'The whisperers'. Reminds me of my aunties....

And you lived to talk about it, WOW  I spent a few years in UP MIchigan (near Marquette). Every spring, these large ants would come out of the ground for about a week. Their bite was nasty. I should know, I got hit once. One friend got hit 3 bites, had to spend the night in the hospital.

I always think of the ant scene from the last Indiana Jones movie, (Temple Skull, something, something) where the ants hauled whole human bodies into their ground.

Did you actually sit on that chair?

I love the 3 ladies statue.

  Sure did! Me and my folks were camping at Lake Eucumbene as part of a Griswold's road trip up
the Pacific Highway. I had made friends with a couple of other kids and we were given a bag of lollies and icy-poles
to share out. Being so intent on an exact distribution of our bounty we didn't notice where we plopped our
chairs. I don't know if the other two kids got bitten. I just remember waking up in the tent and it was night-time
and there were all these adults huddled around whispering....so I must have passed out. Like a honey badger! 8)
