CT/Soft Tissue Density

Hi All,
I just had my first CT scan since surgery. I had to go to a different radiologist because I have moved. So, I just received the report from my doctor and it suggested that I had soft tissue density near the area of surgery and pelvic. The radiologist and my surgeon suggested a 3 month scan to compare. My dr seems not too concerned and said 3 months will be fine. Anyone else had this? I’m freaking out.... does scar tissue show up as this from surgery?

Thanks
KathyLynn

Hello.

Yes similar wording was on my husband's post surgery CT scan back in October and his recent follow up MRI showed the same thing and noted as stable, suggesting postsurgical changes and not recurrence. My husband received radiation prior to his surgery and we were told that that along with surgery can cause inflammation/ changes. So we were told as long as it shows unchanged during follow up scans, it shouldn't be a cause for worries.
