Newbie....My husband was diagnosed IV bowel cancer transverse colon with 30 liver mets in October @ age 47. No symptoms but a large PR bleed on a Saturday afternoon. Went to GP Sunday am & admitted to hospital. Colonoscopy revealed tumour on the Wednesday. Liver mets on scan Thursday. It was quite a shock. No pain or any other symptoms. Maybe some extra farts but not excessive. Our heads were spinning. Port in and FOLFOX chemo started 2 weeks later.
Nuclear liver scan revealed the 30 x tumours in the liver. Even the CEA was not unusually high. LFT's were ok considering all the tumours. Chemo was changed to aggressive FOLFOXIRI & Avastin. He seems to be OK with it. Have completed 3 so far. Hair is falling out so now has shaved his head. He is pretty fatigued. Determined to give it his best shot. Two more chemo & then SCAN ANXIETY when we find out if the chemo is working.
