Newbie....My husband was diagnosed IV bowel cancer transverse colon with 30 liver mets in October @ age 47. No symptoms but a large PR bleed on a Saturday afternoon. Went to GP Sunday am & admitted to hospital. Colonoscopy revealed tumour on the Wednesday. Liver mets on scan Thursday. It was quite a shock. No pain or any other symptoms. Maybe some extra farts but not excessive. Our heads were spinning. Port in and FOLFOX chemo started 2 weeks later.
Nuclear liver scan revealed the 30 x tumours in the liver. Even the CEA was not unusually high. LFT's were ok considering all the tumours. Chemo was changed to aggressive FOLFOXIRI & Avastin. He seems to be OK with it. Have completed 3 so far. Hair is falling out so now has shaved his head. He is pretty fatigued. Determined to give it his best shot. Two more chemo & then SCAN ANXIETY when we find out if the chemo is working.

Hi Crazeekahl, welcome to the forum - sorry for the reason you’re here but glad you’ve found this group. I’m also based in Melbourne and just am about to do my 4th round of neoadjuvant FOLFOX before scans (and like your husband I’m also on clexane, for a recent DVT after my port catheter migrated). Good to hear they’re going hard on the chemo and that he’s tolerating it well so far - hope this continues for you and you get a great response. Let me know if I can be of any help on the local side of things.

Hi crazee, I'm also supporting my husband who was 48 at dx. His is a little different, his tumor is large and advanced, we were told it was inoperable due to being fixed to his pelvis structures. He hasn't started chemo yet, will start on 1/10/2018. Good thoughts and hope his response is great.

CEA 1.9 (I guess it's not a marker for him).
