Thanks LPL , we are in the UK but thankfully it is a regional problem and not experienced by the rest of the UK .

Her GP will let her know as soon as he finds out which cuts it down a bit .

We are grateful it’s not at the start of her journey and we have developed some coping strategies.

Best foot forward as my mother likes to say :D :

Thanks for your kind wishes ,

Well, that sounds a bit better (even if you unfortunately are affected by this problem) I thought it had somthing to do with Brexit - a word hard to escape from these days :|

There is little escaping it right enough . I switched my TV off in the summer . Only watch Netflix now . Between Brexit and calls for “ Scottish Independence “ I have reached my saturation .

I am still nervous for Pet Scan which will be done Friday, but I pray this is a good indicator. I am very happy with this news, but you know I can't just be perfectly happy because I know the liver is the next thing to look at and the PetScan is what does that. I Did the CEA today, results are usually in 2 days, so will know by Friday. If that starts going down then thats a very good sign.

Keep you guys posted and thanks for all the comments. Thanks NHMike, that makes me feel a whole lot better.

Great news. Fingers crossed on the PET scan.

Well Doctor called me last night around 8:30 PM....Not good news. Spot on Lung and in Pelvic region. I will get more information tomorrow and let you guys know. He will come up with a game plan, he did say this is still beatable. It's tough to digest this news as I was hoping to be done with it. Going through the motions, chemo (possibly) I dread and worry. CEA was also 22.

Hi ,

Gutted that you have to face this again but also know it took a full two years to get on top of the majority of microdisease for my mum . Then it settled .

Are you a candidate for Immuotherapy ?

Take all the time you need to digest this but you will find a way over this horrible bump on the road and back to quality living with your family .

Thinking of you all ,

Thanks guys. I don't think Immunotherapy is on the list of things just yet, I think that is if you are in a really really bad situation where nothing else is working. Right now Doctor seems positive that we can still fight this, but need to wait until tomorrow for more information. Will keep you posted and thanks for the support. It's definitely a bummer.

Rickimaroo:
So sorry that you are in this situation. I don't have a lot of advice as my cancer was located only in my liver and lungs but I wanted to correct your idea that immunotherapy is a last resort treatment. Immunotherapy actually opens the doors to allow your own immune system to find and destroy the cancer throughout your body...wherever it may be lurking. It is now being used as first line in many types of cancer and for many colon cancer patients who are MSI high. It is not a last ditch effort or third line treatment.

Well thats good news then. I will mention to my Oncologist and see what his thoughts are. I have been ramping up my immune system. Taking natural stuff to see if it helps.

Rikimaroo, do you know the important genetics of your cancer?
I can’t see anything mentioned in your signature.

Hi ,
We even have a clinical trial in our city for Immuotherapy with MSS patients !!

My friend is having an amazing response with Keytruda for stage 4 lung cancer . Fifty percent reduction with just two cycles . Her fractured sternum has healed!! She has had it as first line treatment along with a chemotherapy agent .

Worth asking about.

Hold on tight for the best of solutions !!
