That is good news indeed!

Sorry to hear about the peri met, but good to know it is not a new one, and great to hear about shrinkage!

Great to hear that your liver mets are decreasing in size. As always, definitely keep pushing for surgical resection once they become small enough as this is the road to NED.

Sorry to hear about your peritoneal met but I know this can possibly be treated successfully with HIPEC. I've never undergone HIPEC but many people on here have with good results. Hopefully they can chime in.

At least your scan is over so now you can breath a sigh of relief.

Not to add to your anxiety, but unfortunately, normal chemo delivery is not effective on peri mets. The reason is the nature of how blood flows in that area. As others have mentioned, HIPEC is the usual recommended treatment for peri mets. I don't know where you are but Dr. Sugarbaker in Baltimore, MD is one of the renowned experts on HIPEC. A friend of mine just had a consult with Dr. Sugarbaker.

The short summary of HIPEC is the surgeon opens you up, looks for any cancer and removes it/them, and then soaks the area in chemo drugs.

As mentioned chemo injections don't work normally on peritoneal metastasis from what I've read/heard. But I believe the response rate of HIPEC on peri mets is good so definitely talk to and push your oncologist to get you a referral to do the HIPEC procedure.

Hi,
The most important thing is you are a fantastic responder to chemo . Phew ! In our limited experience you have to come at it from a few angles and you now know exactly the road to take to deal with your tumour burden .
You have direction and a way forward .
Take care,

Sounds like great news. I remember hearing that chemo was working at it was like the first thing that went right on this terrifying journey. May you have more positive news in the future !
