Migraines and LAR syndrome

Postby chrisca » Wed Nov 21, 2018 11:35 pm

I get mild migraines fairly infrequently, about two or three times a month. I've noticed that after I see the aura, a few hours later there will be a nasty BM that acts like dumping syndrome where everything tries to empty out, causing a long time on the toilet and some pain. When I checked online about this suspicion I found that there is a strong link between migraines and IBS likely due to serotonin's effect on the bowel. Has anyone else noticed this, and did you look at treating the migraines with any medication? I'd like to find out what worked for you if you did so I can talk to my doc about options to treat the migraines. Thanks.
