and I have some questions.

1) Are there any restrictions on flying after a colonoscopy? Local radio station has a contest on right now - win tickets to see Guns n Roses in Hawaii December 8th - which I am determined to win. My colonoscopy is on the 7th, and it is a 12 hour flight from Toronto to Hawaii.

2) Is there an app that will listen to the radio and alert me as soon as a GnR song comes on so I can be the 7th caller in?

3) What is the "y" on the Bi-Peglyte package supposed to signify? It looks like a sperm to me, but I don't think that is what they had in mind.

Sounds like unless you have a large polyp removed, you're good to go.

Well, I didn't win a trip to Hawaii

So now I'm preparing for tomorrow. Not that I need to, I have a nervous gut and get the runs any time I'm under stress.
But the bonus is at least for this scope I'm at home, not hooked up to an IV pole having to share a bathroom with the other patients in the room.
OMG though, I am so hungry all I can think about is food.


These worked quickly for me. Since I was home I thought I would drive the oldest mobster to work this afternoon, but soon changed my mind.


Next up, mix the prep.


I thought an Ocean Spray bottle was an appropriate choice.

Scope is done. My surgeon says I need to have another one done.

In 3 years!! I will talk to my doc and see what she thinks. Seems a
bit long to me.

I had a couple of issues with the prep.

Yesterday afternoon I was absolutely famished by 5pm. Everything I looked at or did made me think of food.
So I went into the kitchen, opened a bag of chips, took out one chip and popped it in my mouth.
I chewed it, and chewed it, and chewed it until I had every molecule of flavor out of it and there
was about an 1/8 teaspoon of potato chip puree in my mouth and then I swallowed it.
Yes I, the rebellious risk taker, broke the no solid foods rule! And it felt good.

Also, I had a very hard time remembering not to flush the wipes. 3 or 4 went down, ooops.

The straw was a godsend (thank you peanut, it was your lava-slide picture that gave me the idea)
as it made it easier to get the prep down without tasting much of it. I’d suggest anyone doing a scope try using one.
The umbrella is optional.

I really wanted to see what it looked like where the large and small were reattached. For some reason the
anaesthesiologist bumped up the fentanyl part way through and I only got to see the last 10 cm coming out.
