Elevation

My husband has spent nearly 6 months on oxiplatin, leucovorab, 5FU and vectibix.

Do these increase your cholesterol levels? We talk to the CNP tomorrow.
DH dx stage IV liver mets largest 6x6.4 cm
Colonoscopy/endoscopy/port place 5/29
4cm mass in splenic flexure
1st round FolFox 5/30
08/2018 new CT no new lesions, clear lungs, slight decrease in colon.
3/2019 PET scan shows greater than 6-7 liver mets largest measuring 3x3 cm. No growth nothing new.
8/15/19 largest liver lesion 1.9x2.1
9/16/2019 OSU to proceed with surgery implant HAI and colon resection
11/19 resection of colon HAI placed
2/20 CEA back to 1000s, liver worse than when we began-start FOLFIRI

Yes - Chemo can increase cholesterol levels. Quick google search shows that a few studies indicate that at least in Breast Cancer the drugs they use do increase it. But they are different drugs for the most part. Still I think any chemotherapy will have an effect on the cardiovascular system. I would be more worried probably about high blood pressure, not so much about cholesterol unless it got abnormally high.

1/17 CEA up again dropped from Trial, Mets growth 4-6 mm in abdomen
5/2/17 Failed second trial, Hospitalized 15 days 5/11. Home Hospice 5/26, at peace 6/4/2017

I had a cardiac event after the reversal (and this was after 7 months of chemo) but the cardiac event was due to dehydration. But I was quite out of shape after the very long cancer treatment. I think that the best thing to do would be to monitor bloodwork and cardiac health after treatment and work to getting better numbers over time. That's what I'm working on these days.
