I'm new here and this is my first post!
Sept 11, 2018 - woke up from a colonoscopy to news of a "likely malignant" tumor. I knew immediately I was stage 4 because a few days prior, I had felt a mass just below my ribcage (turned out to be tumor in my liver).
Sept 17, 2018 - officially diagnosed stage 4 CRC with mets in liver (largest 11 cm)
October 1, 2018 - started chemo
I managed to work in meetings with three oncologists (two local and one at Cleveland Clinic) before starting treatment. A doctor friend who is in medical research told us it would be better to start treatment ASAP at either of our local university hospitals and then move, which we did, to a fourth oncologist, after my first cycle.
Time from dx to first treatment?

Went to ER with what turned out to be blockage on March 17th, surgery that night, port installed April 12th, chemo started May 4th. There was a slight delay because of the difficulty of scheduling 2nd opinion at Dana Farber suggested by my onc.

Diagnosed in July 2018.
Surgery in late August 2018. Declared cancer-free but chemo as a mop up was suggested.
Waiting for the chemo drugs to be delivered. Will probably start chemo in mid-November 2018. Christmas will be fun this year.

I was diagnosed on April 13th and started treatment on May 31st. I could have started a week or two earlier but chose to wait until my kids were done with school for the year.
4/2017 DX: sigmoid colon cancer
colectomy/colostomy
stage II with one positive margin
5/2017 - 11/17 12 rounds of FOLFOX
11/17 - 12/17 Increase in back pain and testicular pain.
CEA increased, CT scan indicated mass on rectal portion of colon
1/18 - 2/18 25 rounds of radiation treatment
5/18 surgery, interoperative radiation, bladder/ureter modification
7/18 normal blood work and CT scan
9/18 increased CEA, mass on small intestine
10/18 Debulking surgery/illeostomy
1/19 Ostomy reversal
12/19 CEA 1.3!!!!

My mom is advanced Stage 3–we aren’t sure if it is 3b or 3c as her MRI report just says “N2—more than 4 lymph nodes” and does not specify whether it is N2a or N2b.
We have a second opinion at Mayo on the 30th but have our first systemic chemo set for Nov 1, exactly one month from diagnosis.
