private message question.

Postby Deann » Sun Oct 21, 2018 12:46 pm

Hi,
If private messages are in my 'outbox' does that mean they were sent but the person hasn't read them?
Or, does it mean they were not sent?
Thanks..... I thought they were also in my sent box but I do not think they are now last time i looked, just the outbox.

Yes, it will stay in your outbox until they have read it.

Ok...... thank you, Lee.
I was wondering if something wasn't working with my account, though, because it doesn't say my name online when I am on the board, for some reason. Maybe it's all good, anyhow.
CR guy, I PM'd you with the same question (how do these PM's work) but then I thought maybe they weren't working so I went online to post here also.
Thanks and good wishes to all. D.

I suspect that has something to do with your settings. My name will show up, butt I understand it is possible to make you name hidden.

As long as you are on here, may I say that was such an informative post you did up there on your situation and the ostomy question. A colleague of mine was going thru colon cancer with his wife some years back and I gave away a good book on dealing with many of these possibilities. This site is so great for information.
I'm just getting a re-check scope at this point, hoping things will turn out well.
I'd like to express my appreciation for so many informative and supportive posts on this board. I know I can recommend it to someone who may need it.
:)

Thank you, and yes this really is a wonderful forum with lots of information and support.

Wish it have been around when I was in active treatment. Sure would have helped me a lot. There was another forum then that is mostly non active today because it had a lot of censorship. You were very limited on what you could or could not write. I was actually banned a couple of times along with a lot of other people.

When I was going through treatment I was always looking for success stories, That is one of biggest reasons I am here today, to help those just starting this journey.

Good luck with your upcoming scope.

You had "Hide my online status: YES " selected. It is now changed and your name should appear next time you log in.

PM issues :

New members need a minimum number of approved posts before being able to send or receive Private Messages on the forum, AND :

1. The PMs stay in your OUTBOX until the recipient actually logs in to "receive" them in their INBOX.

2. if ANY of your PM folders are 100% full they will not be sent and you cannot receive incoming PMs.

3. If the recipient has any PM folders which are 100% full they will not be able to receive any new PMs.

4. If any forum member permissions have been changed, members may not be able to send/receive PMs.

5. Members may personally choose not to receive PMs from other members.

Just reading through this.

If I sent a PM and see it in my OUTBOX but not my SENT box, I assume it wasn't sent. (I see that a number of my PMs were never were actually "sent" in the 6 months I've been here. Just sitting in my outbox.) Anything I am doing wrong?

Thanks.
