OFF TOPIC - HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Postby mpbser » Sat Oct 06, 2018 7:50 am

Just popping in to say that I hope everyone has as great a weekend as possible!

My husband and I married on Columbus Day weekend 2015 and went to a cabin in the mountains for our honeymoon. Every anniversary, we return. This weekend will be a well-earned couple days of relaxation after a very arduous year. I hope you all have a respite as well!

I remember your initial posts, which showed your frustration and advocating for the correct treatment. Getting second opinions, third opinions, and arguing with oncologists. Yes, you indeed had a tumultuous year! Well deserved a couple of days of relaxation... Happy Anniversary. I wish you both many more years of health and happiness!

Thanks for the well wishes. It was nice to have a moment of peace and quiet. Got back yesterday to a terrible day. It was back to the grind with lots of stress from his company. We need a vacation to rest from our mini (two nights) vacation!

I'm glad that you had a break. I've gotten into the cardiac/stress/sleep/heartrate analysis to try to improve my body over the long run. I can see stress building up from work and life in the graphs and am trying to figure out how to improve my numbers. Vacation is one way but the work doesn't vanish when you come back.

Work builds up while he is gone because he is the backbone of his company. Tuesday was awful because he returned to learn that a number of people dropped the ball when he was away - and it was only for one day!

My husband's heart rate is averaging 69 at rest. I guess that's ok? He's still on a bunch of heart & blood pressure meds. It didn't help that his local oncologist gave him a scare about the lung nodules. She insisted on having him in for an appointment before scheduling the Chest CT so he saw her yesterday. She spoke about "restaging" etc. when his fears have been largely ameliorated. Nice job there, doc!

69 is fine. 72 was considered normal when I worked in a hospital back in the 1970s.
