Update

Postby Thetoad » Sat Sep 22, 2018 4:19 pm

It's been a while since I posted here. My 5 year mark is approaching on 13 November and no concerns. Feeling much more confident. Unfortunately I've now been told that there is some prostate cancer. Gleason 7 (3+4.) I don't know if there will be any treatment, it's Grade Group 2, Intermediate favourable. Sad that this arrived just as the bowel cancer worry was fading! Best wishes to all.

22 Lymph nodes clear.

Good consultation Feb. 2017
CEA 1.7 on 16/11/17 colonoscopy ok Jan. 2018 :)

I had prostate cancer (several Gleason 7's) before colon cancer. Had brachytherapy. My PSA has been <0.01 the last few years (knock on wood). My five-year colon cancer anniversary is coming up the first part of next year. So far, everything has been good. Hang in there. You will get through it. One day at a time. Andre

Yes, I still read these posts. Had my last appt with my lovely colorectal nurse and she gave me a survivor badge! Gave her a hug, with her permission and got a bit tearful. Now to deal with the prostate cancer! I finished 20 sessions of radiation on Friday and am now suffering the side effects. But they too will pass in time. Keep fighting everyone!
