I was just wondering--does anyone know what's the exact mechanism of the rectal bleeding that would indicate CRC? I've read somewhere, that a lot of blood coming out of rectum could be indicative of hemorrhoids as well as CRC. I would agree that when hemorrhoids get filled with blood and then they rupture, the bleeding might be significant and then it stops. But with a tumor, how exactly can it bleed so much? I always thought of tumors like of growths that could get irritated and bleed, but really small amounts, because tumors don't pop like a balloon right?
I'm asking because I recently had a pretty significant one time bleeding, which subsided after couple minutes and as much as I want to believe that it was a hemorrhoid, I keep thinking that it was a tumor. Despite me being 22 years old and getting an almost clean (found a tiny benign polyp) colonoscopy about 7 months ago. I've seen some sources saying that crc bleeding is small and sometimes not even noticeable, but I still can't get the other sources out of my head, the ones that say that moderate bleeding could be cancer. Anyone?
